Finance and Cost Accountant – North Dublin
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare manufacturing-related journal entries to ensure financial statements are accurate and produced on time, in line with US GAAP and internal financial policies.
- Conduct account reconciliations to verify correct balance sheet valuations, ensuring that any potential risks are accounted for appropriately.
- Perform analysis on margin variances, including Purchase Price Variance (PPV), production, and absorption variances.
- Track deviations from standard costs and investigate significant discrepancies.
- Take part in other monthly closing tasks within your area of responsibility.
- Calculate product standard costs in SAP and ensure Bills of Materials (BOMs), Routings, and other necessary updates are reviewed and completed.
- Ensure cost accounting practices align with corporate policies by driving consistency and standardization.
- Act as finance lead in process improvement initiatives related to material costing.
- Offer financial expertise in customer pricing simulations, conducting financial analyses, and developing financial models.
- Ensure the timely closure of SAP and accurate reporting submissions to the head office.
- Serve as a business partner across manufacturing functions and collaborate with the wider finance team.
- Continuously strive to improve the finance department’s performance.
- Provide comprehensive and timely income statement and balance sheet reports, along with risk assessments and management commentary.
- Prepare statutory accounts, regulatory filings, and revenue returns for final review.
- Handle transfer pricing reports and work closely with internal and external tax teams.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors as necessary.
- Contribute to strategic site activities by offering relevant input and support for key performance indicators (KPIs) and organizational decisions.
- Complete ad-hoc reports as required.

Role Requirements:
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA / CIMA / ACA).
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to exceed expectations in delivering financial information and support to help achieve business objectives.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Familiar with lean initiatives and capable of driving continuous improvement.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Experience working in a multinational environment.
- SAP experience and knowledge of IFRS would be an advantage.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools like Power BI, process automation, and design optimization.
