Multi-skilled Technician - County Cavan.


In this role you will carry out diagnostics, repair or replace malfunctioning electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic components of equipment and carry out planned preventative maintenance in accordance with the preventative maintenance plan, thus ensuring the plant is maintained to the highest standard. Be proactive by routinely inspecting equipment and cabling panels to ensure they are up to standard.

Key aspects:

Carry out diagnostics and correct or replace malfunctioning electrical units.
Carry out diagnostics and ensure the replacement of pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic components of equipment and machines which are faulty.
Organise safe maintenance principles for regulating and scheduling breakdowns.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance in accordance with the preventative maintenance plan thus ensuring the plant is maintained to the highest standard.
Assisting with equipment upgrades from external contractors and management to ensure all new equipment is commissioned to the agreed timeframe.
Be proactive by routinely inspecting equipment and cabling panels, ensure they are up to standard.
Perform effective troubleshooting and corrective actions to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units.
Ability to prioritise reactive tasks in order of urgency and impact to business.
Proactive in familiarising yourself with new machinery/equipment.
Completion and adherence to current and future engineering systems.
Problem solving ensuring a solution for all required tasks in a timely manner.
Provide assistance and manage contractors’ roles for electrical duties.
Ensure that electrical activity in the production areas conforms to quality standards and promotes excellent product and process quality.
Ensure that electrical activity in the production areas conforms to GMP standards and promotes a safe and healthy work environment through the continuous improvement of safety standards.


This role will be on a continental shift pattern.

Interested applicants should have at least 2 years’ experience in FMCG or manufacturing industry.
Experience in the food operations sector is desirable, not essential.
Excellent communication and interpersonal Skills.
Ability to apply lean principles in practical application

Qualified with a recognised Trade Qualification
Computer Literate

Possess a strong understanding and application of asset management principles, concepts, practices in maintaining the plant's assets.
