Overview
We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor (CSA) to join a Data Centre project team in Denmark.
The successful candidate will work closely with commercial and construction teams to support successful project delivery, maintain strong stakeholder relationships, maximise commercial returns and effectively manage project risk.
Responsibilities
- Prepare tenders, analyse and select subcontractors, negotiate terms and finalise subcontract orders.
- Manage the financial and commercial aspects of subcontractors through to final account completion.
- Maintain accurate site records and document control procedures.
- Record and verify site measurements.
- Assist with forecasts, targets and contract value reconciliations.
- Prepare valuations and variations with appropriate supporting records and details, agreeing changes as works progress.
- Update projected final accounts and submit within required timelines.
- Liaise with site management teams to influence and challenge commercial matters where required.
- Implement commercial strategy across assigned projects.
- Maintain and protect commercial and contractual entitlements.
- Participate in contract value reviews while maintaining an independent commercial perspective.
- Identify and assess commercial risks and opportunities.
- Develop understanding of insurances and warranties relevant to project delivery.
- Engage in cash management activities to support healthy project cash flow.
- Support tender processes as required.
- Supervise and oversee Assistant and Trainee Quantity Surveyors, reviewing and checking work outputs.
- Maintain control of site documentation and records.
- Apply strong written and verbal communication skills in all commercial interactions.
- Effectively utilise digital and technology platforms to support project delivery.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Standard Method of Measurement.
- Show commercial awareness, accountability and ownership in decision-making.
- Apply strong organisational, interpersonal, negotiation and time management skills.
QualificationsRequired
- Degree-level education in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Working towards relevant professional accreditation.
- Knowledge of JCT contracts.
- Strong letter and report writing skills.
- Negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with Contract Value Reviews (CVRs).
- Completion of a 2-day safety appreciation course including contract and commercial awareness.
- CIOB membership or eligibility for membership.
Desirable
- Experience working on larger Design & Build contracts.
- Knowledge of claims and dispute resolution processes.
- Understanding of contract law.
- Experience supporting contracts valued above €/£15m.
- Experience managing traditional contracts.
- Experience supervising Assistant Quantity Surveyors and reviewing Standard Method of Measurement or measurement-related issues.
