Senior Product Development Engineer - County Louth.

In this role you support the development of integrated heating, cooling and ventilation systems. The main focus will be the mechancial design of these products starting from initial concept stage to manufacturing drawings and support of manufacturing in the different locations.

Core Responsibilities:

• Drive development and introduction of heat-pumps and associated products
• Work with engineering, manufacturing and commercial colleagues to ensure timely project delivery
• Assist with the development of appropriate test facilities
• Support continuous improvement activity on the broader heating and cooling range of products
• Meet and exceed the quality standards as set down by the company, both in terms of design and service
• Have a good understanding of the commercial aspect of projects, with an ability to estimate costs before projects start, and a sound ability to accurately cost a part
• Responsible for all aspects of projects, from initial concept through to production
• Manage a small multi-disciplinary engineering team.

Qualifications/Experience sought:
• Third level education in Mechanical/Manufacturing engineering
A minimum of 5 years' product design and development experience
• Experience and knowledge of EN standards and directives and be able to demonstrate them
• Experience of plastic part/tool design, using the following materials: ABS/PP/PC/Nylon/EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) including material additives 
• Proficient at 3D Computer Aided Design, preferably Creo but others 3D systems will be considered
• Proficient at 2D Computer Aided Design, preferably AutoCAD
• Experience of sheet metal part/tool design;
• Experience of development of electro-mechanical systems
• Experience of sound and vibration testing, and how to understand the results obtained

• Good knowledge of thermal and fluids dynamics:
• Knowledge of CFD/FEA and how to use and implement them;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Excellent time management and planning skills;
