Environmental Specialist - County Meath.

In this role you will ensure a good level of compliance with regulatory requirements. This includes the compliance of all conditions of the various industrial emissions or radiological licences in place for the business.

You will ensure that environmental issues are reviewed, evaluated and reported as necessary to ensure environmental compliance and business continuation.

You will be a part of a team to provide QESH assistance and direction. You will have a detailed knowledge on planning permission requirements (Strategic Infrastructure), industrial emissions licence amendments, reviews and ongoing licence compliance (e.g. dealing with and following up on EPA audits, internal opportunities for improvement or corrective action).

You should have the potential and drive for setting up and organising the requirements and systems needed to open and run an Industrial Emissions Licenced facility or a landfill facility. This would include liaising with authorities, site staff, construction workers amongst others.

The scope of the role will include Safety; Systems; monitoring, evaluating and reporting of Environmental Data at an EPA licensed facility; management of Environmental Incidents, Complaints and Non-Compliances; Administration of Environmental Data; implementing systems, process flows,
protocols for a new facility; producing or updating procedures, process
flows or other management system documents such as root cause analysis.

Interested applicants should have:

Degree or higher in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering or Chemistry
Strong interpersonal skills, initiative, confidence, commercial awareness and excellent organisational skills, presentation and Microsoft office skills,
strong sense of team work and an ability to work in a rapidly changing environment paying attention to detail and deadlines

At least 3-5 years experience in an Environmental role similar to EHS
roles in IPPC/Waste/IED licenced facility
Good communication skills (written and verbal) for dealing with
authorities, operations staff and senior management
Experience of environmental control and management during construction of
a facility an advantage (not essential)
Previous experience working in a Lean or Six Sigma
environment an advantage (not essential)
