Team Leader - Manufacturing: County Louth.

We are now recruiting Team Leader - Manufacturing.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Team Leader is responsible for all aspects of production and people management for their specific shift.

Main responsibilities will include:
Support onsite Safety program e.g. ensure all reports comply with relevant safety standards in all work areas, ensure safety audits are carried out periodically, ensure all accidents & near misses are investigated thoroughly & corrective actions implemented.
Ensuring that production quotas are met in a timely and efficient manner.
Ensure all area Quality standards are always complied with.
Effectively managing, motivating and coaching a large number of people over different shift patterns in a highly automated environment.
Audit and ensure work area and equipment is maintained and operated in a safe and orderly manner. Ensure adherence to good housekeeping practice.
Create an environment to promote motivation through good communications, regular reviews of performance and by exhibiting sound leadership qualities.

Plan and develop subordinates (e.g Technicians & Operators) through involvement, delegation and assigning of special projects where appropriate.
Assist with the selection, hiring and training of personnel. Maintain a high standard of industrial and employee relations by ensuring implementation of uniform interpretation of company policies and procedures.
Use computer systems as required to maximise efficiencies across production, HR and other relevant areas.
Determine and assist with resolving root causes of line problems, quality issues and waste (background knowledge of application of appropriate techniques for this such as lean manufacturing and six sigma tools would be advantageous).
Implement and maintain formal and informal channels of communication with superiors, subordinates, service departments, union representatives and outside services and suppliers.

Interested applicants should ideally hold a third-level qualification coupled with extensive and relevant work experience. A history of undertaking further training courses and qualifications would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will have:
Thorough knowledge of production management principles and supervisory skills.
Knowledge of budgetary control procedures.
Production planning understanding.
Knowledge of principles of key Quality Standards: cGMP/FDA/ISO.
Good interpersonal skills combined with excellent communication ability.

This is a 4-Cycle Shift Pattern role (Days and Nights). You must be willing to work 2 x 12-hour days, followed by 2 x 12-hour nights, followed by 4 days off.
