Technical Sales Executive - Northamptonshire 

We are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Executive for our client firm based in Northamptonshire region. This is a high end, award winning technology company with international recognition for its innovative R&D and Product Design Capabilities. 

This is an exciting position for a Salesperson with experience in a similar role within an Industrial related environment. The correct candidate will require strong organisational skills and to be an effective communicator with a high standard of written English. Strong presentation skills are also required. 

The correct candidate will contribute to a creative environment with innovation a major part of the role/company. The successful candidate will have instrumental role in the development and growth of the organisation. 

This role will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation and growth of new and existing business opportunities across the UK. 

Requirements: 

  • A strong technical competence with analytical skills. 
  • A proven track record for sales targets and meeting deadlines. 
  • Experience in a commercial environment - ideally related to Industrial inspection equipment or similar. 
  • Have an aptitude to present customer onsite demonstrations of technical products. 
  • Have experience in identifying new opportunities, new applications and new clients. Be able to deliver on their potential. 
  • Experience with tradeshows to include set up, co-ordination and attendance. 
  • Have a proven record for excellent customer support. 
  • Proficiency with CRM Systems, Microsoft Packages (standard applications). 

Your main responsibilities:

  • Identify & establish new business. Through cold and warm prospecting and lead generation. 
  • Generate new customer acquisition in industry sectors such as but not limited to; Precision Engineer, Automotive, defence, medical device & electronics. 
  • Be able to gain an understanding of customer's businesses & requirements. 
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients. Manage and interpret their requirements as required. 
  • Work closely with the Applications team. Delivering first class inspection & measurement solutions. 
  • Have confidence to perform on-site demonstrations and technical presentations. 
  • Prepare proposals, quotations and tenders for client accounts. 
  • Maintain aftersales support services and provide technical backup as required. 
  • Prepare reports and keep customer records through the CRM Software. 
  • Meet sales targets and co-ordinate sales projects. 
  • Support customers to deliver world class product support in tandem with the applications support team. 
  • Set up, co-ordinate and attend key national trade shows and generate new leads and sales opportunities. 
  • Keep a close network with other company departments as required to deliver market feedback, channel partner support and customer satisfaction. 
  • Participate in the company innovation programmes. Provide customer and market feedback on the end-user requirements, market trends and potential opportunities elsewhere. 
  • Deliver KPI's and Quarterly sales growth targets. 
  • Present regular progress reports and updates to the management team. 

Personal profile: 

  • Business or Sales related 3rd level Qualification would be advantageous. 
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic professional with a desire to contribute to company growth. 
  • Excellence in communication with an ability to work closely with management teams. Regularly communicate with those and report activities. 
  • Possess a practical knowledge in process, business & commercial areas. 
    Be an organised and dependable person. Have the ability to work on your own initiative, as well as part of the wider team to achieve both personal and company goals, targets & KPI's. 
  • Display a good knowledge and capability with digital marketing platforms. 
  • Have good influencing and presentation skills.
