Continuous Improvement Project Engineer - County Louth.

Job Summary:

The objective of this role is primarily focused on identifying, developing and managing the rolling pipeline of projects that improve product costs while maintaining or improving product quality & the customer experience. 

Projects are developed to meet targets, they are prioritised, they are appropriately resourced, work breakdown schedules are developed & the projects are implemented according to schedule.   Projects may include improvements to product designs, materials and packaging, architecture, supply chain or manufacturing processes.  

This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams as well Operational Excellence, R&D, Production, Quality, Supply Chain and Engineering teams to drive improvements in performance, information systems and organisation across the site

Key Responsibilities:

Development of pipeline of projects/programs that assure cost targets are met or exceeded
Prioritise CI Projects to meet targets set out, identify and gain approval for project resource support, develop work breakdown schedules which are achievable yet bold and monitor through the project life cycle
Regularly report program progress and financial analysis to senior management & the leadership team.
Identification of the future state for each product with the cost, capabilities and structure needed
Project manage at least one major change project per year to successful completion using the Lean Design Control Process
Demonstrate clear accountability for operational, financial and program success
Be decisive; make decisions when needed to ensure program success
Build strong relationships with both internal and external associates at all levels of the business
Motivate the teams to achieve individual and program objectives
Foster the development of team members to excel in their performance
Contribute to a culture of innovation by generating ideas to improve current processes that drive down/stabilise costs and/or enhance current products’ ability to address customer needs.
Regularly engage with expanded network of CI Engineers across the company; share best practices and benchmarking.

Some travel will be required to support new projects

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

Minimum Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering or Science or closely related field, required with a minimum of three to five years' industrial experience.
Formal WCM, Six Sigma, or Lean related training required, with at least two years' experience of a successful implementation of the chosen methodology.
Formal Project Management training and proven project success using a formal methodology
